Registration for the spring term (Term 2 of 2025, from 5 May to 11 July) of the Language and Communications courses offered by the Language and Communications Training Unit opens on Wednesday, 5 March 2025.
Offered to eligible participants, these courses cover a broad range of topics, proficiency levels, and learning formats, including online, in-person, and hybrid options. LCTU remains committed to accommodating class and learning preferences to the greatest extent possible.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing austerity measures to address the liquidity situation, it may not always be able to offer the full suite of class options in all languages. To support continued learning, the established self-study series remains available, offering flexible resources for those looking to discover a new language, enhance their linguistic skills, or develop strategies for inclusive and effective communication.
Amidst these adjustments, we¡¯re excited to bring you two pieces of good news!
First, the launch of our new website providing enhanced resources to expand your language and communications skills. The site is available in all six languages and features new courses, tailored materials, assessment tools, and upcoming events. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Second, as is tradition every Spring, the UN celebrates four Language Days: Chinese on 20 April, English and Spanish on 23 April, and Russian on 6 June. Stay tuned for LCTU¡¯s special live and online events ¡ª the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in language and culture in a different way!
Registration for Term 2 will close on 17 April 2025 for all regular courses. For specialized courses, registration remains open until one week before the start of the training sessions. Enrolment for self-study courses is ongoing.
In-person support is available during office hours held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the UN Learning Centre ¨C Secretariat Building, level 3B. Online support is also available at languages@un.org.
Register early to secure your place and celebrate multilingualism with us!
