The 2025 United Nations Parallel Event, Inclusive Partnerships and Digital Global Citizenship Education: Advancing Social Cohesion for a Sustainable Future, took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City on February 4th, 2025, 3-5pm EST (New York Time). The goal of the event was to deliver insights on how Global Citizenship Education (GCED) fosters social cohesion, empathy, and action on global challenges through amplifying youth-led solutions leading to strengthened networks and improved implementation of digital learning tools to achieve Agenda 2030.
Co-organized by , Global NGO Executive Committee and Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO) this event brought together influential panelists from diverse sectors to reflect on the importance of cross-culturally situated teaching and learning in cultivating future leaders and share their expertise to suggest effective ways of systematically implementing and benefiting diverse communities. Additionally, students from China, India, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Myanmar and the United States addressed key challenges related to various SDGs, sharing their projects on actionable solutions. They demonstrated the impact of cross-sector partnerships (SDG 17) and intercultural collaboration facilitated by digital learning platforms.
