The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a follow-up assessment visit to Norway from 19 to 20 June 2025, on behalf of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate Norway¡¯s progress in implementing key counter-terrorism measures in line with Council resolution 1373 (2001) and other relevant resolutions.?

Counter-Terrorism Committee conducts a follow-up assessment visit to the Republic of Cameroon

Acting on behalf of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee, its Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a follow-up country assessment visit to the Republic of Cameroon from 17 to 21 March 2025. The assessment covered all relevant Security Council resolutions, including 1373 (2001), 2178 (2014), 2349 (2017) and 2396 (2017), and included engagement with the Government of Cameroon in Yaound¨¦, as well as in Maroua, M¨¦m¨¦ and M¨¦ri, in the Far North Region.

Counter-Terrorism Committee conducts assessment visit to Somalia

On behalf of the Security Council¡¯s Counter-Terrorism Committee, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted an assessment visit to the Federal Republic of Somalia from 2 to 6 February 2025.

The visiting delegation was led by Marc Porret, CTED Chief of Section for Africa, and consisted of CTED experts as well as experts from the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism; the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime; the United Nations Development Programme; the United Nations Mine Action Service; the International Organization for Migration; and the International Criminal Police Organization.

Counter-Terrorism Committee conducts assessment visit to Turkmenistan

The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a follow-up assessment visit on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Committee to Turkmenistan from 9 to 13 December 2024. 
The visiting delegation was led by Assistant Secretary-General Natalia Gherman, Executive Director of CTED, and consisted of CTED experts as well as experts from the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism; the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime; the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL); and the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism. Mr. Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNRCCA, joined parts of the high-level segment of the visit at the invitation of the Executive Director of CTED.  

Counter-Terrorism Committee conducts a follow-up assessment visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

Acting on behalf of the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee, its Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a follow-up country assessment visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania from 14 to 21 October 2024. The assessment covered all relevant Security Council resolutions, including 1373 (2001), 2178 (2014), and 2396 (2017), and included engagement with the Government of Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Nouakchott and the Hodh El Chargui region, close to the border with Mali.
