“Since the previous iteration of the Technical Guide, published in 2017, the Security Council has adopted eight further resolutions on counter-terrorism, which cover a broad range of topics, including, among others, counter-financing of terrorism, the proper use of biometrics, the incorporation of the gender dimension, and countering the abuse of information and communications technologies for terrorist purposes.

On 8 October 2018, the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) held an open briefing focused on “The nexus between international terrorism and transnational organized crime.” Organized in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), the aims of the open briefing were to (i) help strengthen the understanding of the nexus as it pertains to criminal activities linked to trafficking in persons committed for the purpose of supporting terrorism, the nexus between

21 December 2017 - Earlier this year, the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) submitted to the Security Council an updated version of the?Technical Guide, an important tool to help Member States implement key Security Council resolutions on terrorism.
