The Policy Brief Series on Good Governance in National Security
The Policy Brief Series on Good Governance in National Security is an initiative by the United Nations Interagency Security Sector Reform Taskforce in collaboration with the World Bank Group. It was made possible by a grant from the United Nations* Humanitarian 每 Development 每 Peacebuilding and Partnership Facility hosted by the Peacebuilding Support Office.
The series comprises nine policy briefs drafted by leading experts in the fields of fragility, conflict studies, governance, and economic development. These Policy Briefs jointly offer a framework for analyzing the fragility and conflict drivers and risks to peace, security and development associated with weak security sector governance. They also explore innovative approaches to building capable, efficient, resilient, sustainable, inclusive, and accountable security institutions.
The series proposes practical, politically informed solutions for fostering accountability, inclusion, and sustainability in national security sectors worldwide.
We hope that these papers will contribute to advancing our collective understanding of Security Sector Reform and Governance (SSR/G) contribution to advancing sustainable development, peacebuilding, and sustaining peace.
