UN Technology Bank briefs stakeholders on its new Strategic Plan 2025 - 2027 - Delivering Results for LDCs
By Emek İlke Alpan, Administrative Officer, United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries
As we begin implementation of our new Strategic Plan 2025 - 2027, Delivering Results for LDCs, I joined our Managing Director, Deodat Maharaj on a mission to Ankara from 18 - 19 February to continue our systematic engagement with our clients and stakeholders. During the mission, we met with a range of stakeholders and partners to share the priorities of our new Strategic Plan which we developed in close collaboration with them and to further cement partnerships. The objective of our Strategic Plan and mission was to find ways to "Delivering Results for LDCs".
During our visit, we met with our partners including the Director General of COMCEC and International Development Cooperation, Presidency of Strategy and Budget, Mr. Selçuk Koç. In this meeting, we looked at ways of further deepening our collaboration in areas related to the pillars of our Strategic Plan. Given the importance of continued outreach to our client countries and listening to their views, we had an excellent round of dialogue with Ambassadors from Djibouti, Sudan and Yemen. At these meetings, we heard from the Ambassadors that the priorities of the Strategic Plan are consistent with their own priorities reflecting their own challenges. We discussed possible ways of collaboration and capacity building in difficult development situations.
In our meeting with Finland's Ambassador to Türkiye, we looked at different ways of building a partnership with Finland given its commitment to the LDC agenda. Our meeting with the Indian Ambassador in Ankara was also positive, productive, and forward-looking given the importance of us at the UN Technology Bank building strong relationships with countries of the Global South which has so much to offer LDCs in terms of science, technology and innovation.
For us at the UN Technology Bank, we recognize the importance of forging partnerships to deliver results as we leverage science, technology, and innovation to deliver results for our client countries.
