Teaching Tools Ask "Are We on Track to Reach the SDGs by 2030?"

‘SDGs by 2030 – are we on track?’ is a digital resource showing how academics at the University of Sydney are working to achieve specific SDG targets. The endeavour includes 29 short narratives, infographics and student assignments that can be used as teaching prompts for academics looking to incorporate the SDGs into their course guides.

Manchester Metropolitan University launches new Institute for Children’s Futures

To mark World Children’s Day, Manchester Metropolitan University welcomed over 100 delegates to celebrate the launch of its new Institute for Children’s Futures (ICF). The ICF brings together the University’s existing academic expertise and will work with children and young people, policymakers, and practitioners through research, policy innovation and action to tackle the diverse challenges faced by children and young people.

UAVEIRO REAP: Recycling and Reimbursement of PET Packaging Pilot System

In 2020, the applied for the Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy Program, with the aim of improving its waste management by including a reimbursement system for the deposit of polyethene terephthalic (PET) bottles and non-reusable cans. The basic principle of the REAP project is the possibility that UAveiro’s students and workers could be reimbursed for each bottle they return.

UiB Plastic Cleanup Campaign 2024: "Plastic Island"

Students and staff from the University of Bergen, together with long-standing partners, cleaned “Plastic Island” Lisle LyngĂžy during this year’s plastic cleanup campaign. The cleanup campaign, held on September 12, was organized by UiB’s Plastics Network and the Sustainability Pilots in collaboration with Bergen og Omland FriluftsrĂ„d (BOF) and Naturvernforbundet Hordaland.

Oxford’s SDG Lab Empowers Students for Sustainable Impact

The Oxford SDG Impact Lab was founded in 2021 to empower University of Oxford students to lead transformative research projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Lab partners with both global industry leaders and local community organisations, providing students with unique opportunities to address pressing challenges in areas like sustainable tourism, climate action, health, and social inclusion.

Yenepoya University Centre for Ethics Celebrates International Day of Peace

Sending a Message to COP 29: DMU Organizes Second Big River Clean-up

Joining with its local authority, Leicester City Council, and waterways charity the Canal and River Trust, UNAI member and SDG Hub 16 is organizing its second annual river clean-up on Wednesday, 13 November, as world leaders gather to discuss climate action at COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. DMU encourages universities around the world to get involved in the project and take action on the same day.

INSEAD's Renewed MBA Curriculum for Social and Environmental Impact

In recent years, UNAI member institution has progressively incorporated sustainability topics into its MBA core courses, and this process is now complete. By embedding sustainability into all 14 core courses and introducing a mandatory 3-day real-life business simulation capstone, the offers a high-impact environment to facilitate discussions and cultivate responsible leaders, the refreshed curriculum first rolled out in January 2024.

Texila American University Boosts Community Health with Blood Drives

Texila American University (TAU) has emerged as a leading force in promoting community welfare in Guyana through its proactive blood donation drives. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, TAU has been dedicated to addressing the pressing need for blood in the region, often heightened by medical emergencies and ongoing health conditions. One of the university’s most recent and impactful drives took place on June 21, 2024, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS).

The Aveiro Ă© Nosso project was restructured and given new life in 2014 by the Students Union of the University of Aveiro, with the goal of bringing the academic community closer to the Region of Aveiro and its residents. Evolving in action and goals for the next ten years, today the University of Aveiro continues to create and engage in volunteering projects and sustainability initiatives which will help to unite Aveiro communities and contribute to a greater good.

Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024: 4,000+ undergraduates bring the SDGs into focus

The Millennium Campus Network (MCN) and the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) are proud to present the Class of 2024, an ambitious program to help make the Sustainable Development Goals and UNAI principles a reality.  Millennium Fellows were selected from a record-breaking 52,581 applicants to join the Class of 2024, hailing from 6,000+ universities worldwide.  The Class of 2024 consists of 4,000+ driven undergraduates at in 48 nations.

Catalysing Challenge-led Research to Support the SDGs: A Practical Framework from Monash University 

A challenge facing many universities and researchers is how to catalyse large-scale, multi-partner challenge-led, interdisciplinary research to address the SDGs.    In response to this challenge, has released a practical framework based on 15 years of experience which provides new guidance and strategies, drawing from an 18 month study of challenge-led, large scale research. The Framework seeks to strengthen systems, cultures and capabilities at a range of levels.
