Inter-Agency Consultative Group (IACG) on LLDCs
The IACG is an informal consultative mechanism, convened by UN-OHRLLS, convened of experts on LLDCs issues from the UN and other international and regional organisations.
The IACG serves as a platform for collaboration among various UN agencies, international organizations, and development partners to ensure a unified and effective approach to supporting LLDCs in their development endeavors. Its mission is to facilitate the implementation of the , which outlines strategies for addressing their particular needs, including improving infrastructure, trade facilitation, and addressing vulnerabilities to external economic shocks.
The main activities being pursued through the IACG are:
- Coordinating activities linked to the implementation of the Programme of Action for LLDCs at global, regional and national levels;
- Monitoring and updating of the Roadmap and Results Framework for the Programme of Action for LLDCs;
- Coordinating the preparation of the annual Secretary-General¡¯s report on implementation of the Programme of Action and other relevant documents;
- Replicating and scaling up best practices for the benefit of LLDCs;
IACG meetings are typically held biannually.
