Event on Rehabilitation and Reintegration at the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum

As part of the , and in collaboration with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (), the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) organized an event on the rehabilitation and reintegration of adults and children affected by terrorism.

The event, titled ¡°Rehabilitation and Reintegration: Facing Challenges and Finding Opportunities¡±, took place on 24 February 2025 in Riyadh. It convened representatives of Member States and UN entities, as well as experts from relevant regional organizations and humanitarian agencies involved in the rehabilitation and reintegration of children and adults affected by armed conflict and terrorism. 

Experts had the opportunity to share insights stemming from national and regional experiences, reflecting on challenges and lessons learned, and sharing promising practices observed in this space. Discussions also served to identify areas for increased technical assistance to support the design and implementation of sustainable, human rights compliant, gender and age-sensitive rehabilitation and reintegration strategies and interventions through whole-of-government and whole-of-society approaches.
